We were in a bigger room, it was frightening so we stood as close to each other as we could be. It was nice to be able to stand up. Ginger dared to stretch her wings, so we all copied. It was funny, a nice feeling, we giggled briefly. Suddenly Agnes disappeared upwards. Oh no, where has she gone? I felt sad even though we'd only just met, she didn't come back....We'd never met before but now we were all we had. This was it, solidarity, a united front, we would stick together!

This was it, solidarity, a united front, we would stick together. We landed somewhere and were being taken to something else. We had no idea if it was good or bad, we just guessed it would be bad! Suddenly the door opened, so what? We didn't know what to do about it. We stood huddled together, no idea what was going on. A hand appeared in the box and pushed us out. Oh it was so scary! In front of us was some food, some kind of porridge. Agnes dived on it and very quickly we all followed. We were starving, good call Agnes. Oh and water, fresh water, lovely! After gorging ourselves, we realised we needed to be scared again. Maybe this was a trick?

The journey seemed to go on for ages; we were all very hot and could barely breathe. I felt exhausted and decided there was nothing I could do. We all sat there huddled together not knowing what to do, all of a sudden it dawned on us, we had to stick together. "I'm Bunty" I said...."Agnes, hello"....."Ginger, pleased to meet you"..."and I'm Sunshine Sally, how do you do?"

Hello, my name is Bunty. I am a rescued battery hen from Cornwall originally. I was rescued by the Battery Hen Welfare Trust before being adopted by my mum Sarah in 2007 with my three sisters Agnes, Ginger and Sunshine Sally. Sadly my sisters have since died and I am the only one left.
I would like to tell you our story so watch this space for further updates!
